Wikilink aliases and heading deep links
Bidirectional wikilinks enable granular associative connections between documents. Beyond basic note-to-note linking, Oyma supports linking to specific subheadings and creating custom display aliases.
Linking to specific note headings
To link directly to a section within another document, append a hash sign (#) followed by the heading text:
Infrastructure Architecture#Security Boundaries
When you click this link, Oyma opens Infrastructure Architecture.md and scrolls smoothly to the ## Security Boundaries heading.
Autocompleting headings
- In the editor, type
[[. - Select your target document from the suggestion list.
- Type
#. - A secondary popover lists every
#,##, and###heading in that file. Press Return to insert.
Piped aliases for natural prose
Link syntax can disrupt the grammatical flow of sentences if you must use the exact note filename. Use piped aliases to customize the visible link text:
Review the Q3 financial report before the board meeting.
In live preview and read mode, this renders cleanly as:
Review the Q3 financial report before the board meeting.
Aliases configured via frontmatter
If a note frequently goes by an abbreviation, add an aliases array to its frontmatter:
---
aliases: [SCK, ScreenCaptureKit]
---
Typing SCK anywhere in your vault will automatically suggest this note and insert the appropriate link.
