Offline and in-person meeting recording

Not every critical conversation happens over Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Board meetings, executive offsites, client dinners, and whiteboard brainstorming sessions frequently occur face-to-face in environments with zero internet connectivity.

In-person recording mode

When you meet colleagues in person, virtual call loopback capture is unnecessary. Switch Oyma to in-person recording:

1. In the recording dock or menu bar, select In-Person / Microphone Only.
2. Oyma engages your Mac’s beamforming internal microphone array.
3. Audio streams directly into on-device Whisper with zero network checks.

Recording in airplane mode

Oyma is engineered from first principles for disconnected travel:

• Zero License Phone-Homes: The app does not block features if disconnected for days.
• On-Device Whisper: Speech models execute on Apple Silicon unified memory.
• Local Markdown Files: Notes save directly to your APFS disk vault.

Tips for high-fidelity in-person capture

1. Center Your Mac: Position your MacBook centrally on the conference table with the screen tilted at 90° for optimal beamforming microphone reception.
2. Mute System Sounds: Turn on macOS Do Not Disturb to prevent notification dings from polluting the audio buffer.
3. Use Whisper Small or Large: In-person meetings feature variable speaking volumes and room reverberation. The Small (488 MB) or Large v3 Turbo (1.6 GB) models provide superior acoustic tolerance over the Base model.
