Terms of use

Draft for the private beta, pending legal review.

These terms cover the Oyma Mac app during its private beta, and this website. By using either, you agree to them.

The beta

  • Oyma is beta software. It may have bugs, and features may change or be removed. Keep backups of anything important. Your notes are plain files, so any backup tool works.
  • The beta is free. We may introduce paid plans for optional services later; we will tell you before anything you use starts costing money.
  • You need an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later.

Your content

Your notes, recordings and transcripts are yours. They are stored on your Mac and we don’t receive them. See the privacy policy and the privacy architecture. You are responsible for your content and for backing it up.

Recording other people

Oyma can record calls. Many places require you to tell people, or get their consent, before you record them. You are responsible for complying with the recording and privacy laws that apply to you and the people you record. The app shows a reminder when you start a capture; it does not notify other participants for you.

Third-party AI providers

If you connect your own Anthropic or OpenAI account, your use of those services is governed by their terms and billed by them. We are not responsible for their services.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Oyma to break the law, to record people unlawfully, or to infringe other people’s rights. Don’t reverse-engineer the beta to get around its limits or redistribute it without our permission.

No warranty

The beta is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost profits or indirect damages arising from your use of the beta.

Ending

You can stop using Oyma at any time; your files stay where they are. We may end the beta or your access to it.
