Everything you need to set up Oyma, record your first meeting, and keep it all on your Mac.
Getting started
- Getting started
Your first launch, explained: where your notes live, what the sample notes and tour show you, and the handful of shortcuts that cover daily use.
- Open an existing Obsidian vault
Point Oyma at your Obsidian vault folder. What carries over (Markdown, wikilinks, callouts, frontmatter, images) and what is left alone.
Notes & files
- Markdown basics
The Markdown Oyma understands, from headings and task lists to callouts, highlights, comments and footnotes, plus what still shows as plain source.
- Links, backlinks and the graph
Link notes with [[wikilinks]], change the link text, point at a heading, see what links back to a note, and explore the vault in the graph view.
- Search and the command palette
Use ⌘O to jump to notes, run commands with > and look up tags with #. Search the text of every note with ⌘⇧F, and find or replace inside a note.
- Work with tables
Tables in Oyma behave like a small spreadsheet. Move with Tab and Enter, use row and column menus, sort, and paste CSV or TSV data straight in.
Meetings
- Record a meeting
Capture a call into any note. Start and stop recording, pause from the recording dock, let Oyma notice Zoom, Meet or Teams, and get a transcript and summary.
- Recording permissions on macOS
Which macOS permissions meeting capture needs, why call audio requires macOS 14.2 or later, what happens without them, and how to grant or reset them.
Transcription
- Transcription models and languages
How on-device transcription works in Oyma. Pick a speech model by size and speed, set the language, transcribe audio or video files, and avoid duplicates.
AI
- Summaries and Ask with Ollama or your own key
Set up AI summaries and Ask. Run a local model with Ollama on your Mac, or use your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key, stored in the macOS Keychain.
Privacy
- Local-only mode and privacy controls
Block every network connection with Local-only mode, choose on-device or cloud per feature, read the egress log, and turn AI off for a single note.
Troubleshooting
- Troubleshooting
Fixes for silent call audio, slow or lagging transcription, summaries that fail, Ollama not being found, and how to export a diagnostics file for support.
