Knowledge workers invest years curating their Markdown vaults in tools like Obsidian. Version 0.4.0 guarantees that you can use Oyma alongside your existing workflow without modifying a single file.
Technical Details
Non-Destructive Vault Mounting
When you select an existing Obsidian vault directory, Oyma reads your markdown files, folder hierarchies, and attachments in place. Any change made in Obsidian is reflected instantly in Oyma, and vice versa.
Security Isolation
To protect your machine against potentially vulnerable third-party JavaScript plugins, Oyma treats the .obsidian configuration folder as an isolated directory. Our binary never loads untrusted plugin bundles.
Filesystem Event Architecture
Our native filesystem watcher provides robust synchronization:
- Uses macOS
FSEventswith debounced notification queues to handle rapid git checkouts and batch file moves without race conditions. - Adheres to standard POSIX file permissions and honors
.gitignorespecifications automatically. - Completely avoids modifying your vault configuration, plugins, or themes.
