Welcome to Oyma: The Private Markdown Workspace

We created Oyma because we believe notes should be durable, fast, and completely private. Version 0.1.0 represents the initial technical preview of our local-first Mac application.

Foundational Principles

1. Your Notes Belong on Your Disk

Your ideas, projects, and meeting notes should never be hostage to cloud service outages or proprietary database schemas. In Oyma, every document is a standard CommonMark file on your local filesystem. You can open, edit, or back up your notes with any text editor or git repository.

2. Privacy as a Structural Guarantee

We do not believe in privacy policies that rely on trust. Privacy must be enforced by architecture. Oyma initializes zero network connections during standard editing, contains zero third-party telemetry scripts, and keeps your intellectual property on your device.

Core Editor Engine & System Sandboxing

The technical preview ships with our lightweight text rendering engine:

  • Full support for GitHub Flavored Markdown including task lists, fenced code blocks, and footnotes.
  • Instantaneous file loading times with sub-millisecond keyboard input response.
  • Executable signed with Apple Developer ID under macOS Hardened Runtime protections.
