- Zero third-party audio driver installations or kernel extension prompts
- Local audio encryption storing temporary buffers exclusively in memory
Release Highlights: Botless Audio Recording on Mac
Cloud recording bots like OtterPilot or Fathom disrupt meeting dynamics and raise serious data privacy concerns. Version 0.2.0 introduces our native macOS audio capture engine.
Architectural Breakthrough
Direct ScreenCaptureKit Audio Stream
Leveraging Apple’s modern ScreenCaptureKit framework, Oyma captures the audio output of specific conference applications or the system default output bus directly. This eliminates the need to install virtual audio devices like BlackHole or Soundflower.
Dual-Track Recording
Your microphone and the incoming system audio stream are captured on separate channels, allowing Whisper to process each speaker track with clean acoustic separation.
Audio Processing Pipeline & Security Guarantees
The underlying CoreAudio pipeline adheres to strict privacy and performance standards:
- Ingests audio at native 48kHz 32-bit floating point and converts in-memory to 16kHz mono 16-bit PCM for the Whisper inference model.
- Temporary audio segments are held strictly in non-swappable RAM buffers and erased immediately after transcription.
- Operates entirely within the user session without requesting elevated administrative credentials.
